Local Competitions
In order to compete for the title of Miss Iowa, one must first compete in and
win a local competition. Local pageants are held at different locations around
the state from July through April to qualify for the state competition, which is
always the first full week of June with the exception of this year due to COVID 19 issues. For more details on each local competition,
please click on the links below. Miss Iowa also accepts a limited number of
Fair/Festival and College Homecoming Queens who meet certain requirements. For

To compete in for Miss Iowa's Outstanding Teen, one
should also first compete in and win a local competition. Local
pageants are held at different locations around the state from July through
March to qualify for the state competition, which
is always the first full week of June. Miss Iowa also accepts a limited number
of "At-Large" contestants in the Teen divisions.
